Proactive climate action future-proofs Stendörren’s property portfolio

In 2025, Stendörren’s team continued its in-depth work to analyse and implement measures to minimize climate-related risks identified in the company’s property portfolio. Based on the desktop analysis conducted in 2022 and with support from external experts, we have mapped the most material risks in our portfolio, with cloudbursts identified as the most significant risk. Examples of measures implemented include ensuring that each building’s drainage system is able to handle large volumes of rainwater, reinforcing buildings to improve their resilience to extreme weather events, and upgrading roof drainage. These measures have already resulted in improved safety for the properties and a reduced risk of damage and operational disruptions during heavy rainfall.

In addition, the team has developed action plans and introduced new procedures in the inspection protocols. This means that the properties are inspected regularly with a specific focus on climate-related risks, which strengthens the company’s preparedness and contributes to a more robust and future-proof property portfolio.

The climate adaptation of the buildings also helps safeguard the long-term value of the properties. It can make property management more cost efficient, while also improving conditions for insurance and financing. In the event of a potential divestment, the portfolio is also more attractive to investors.
