Good governance leads to reduced energy consumption

Resource efficiency is one of the focus areas where Stendörren has the greatest opportunity to reduce its climate impact, primarily by minimizing energy use in its existing portfolio. In 2023, Stendörren’s proactive work resulted in a continued reduction in the energy consumption. In 2023, energy intensity decreased to 84.8 kWh/sqm (88), a decrease of 21.4 percent. At the same time, the purchased fossil-free electricity increased to 98 % (96).

The administration has monthly follow-ups on the activities carried out in each property to reduce energy consumption. The follow-ups involve both technical and commercial management. Stendörren’s own technicians make recurring rounds, both physical and digital, where the properties’ control and monitoring systems are optimized to minimize unnecessary energy consumption.

Stendörren aims to purchase 100 percent fossil-free energy by 2030.In addition, Stendörren has chosen to certify its existing properties according to BREEAM In-Use. In 2023, the certification work continued, and the company has thus certified a total of 58 percent of the lettable area in the portfolio and maintained a rate of approximately 20 percent area (sqm) per year. Stendörren’s long-term goal is to certify at least 70 percent of the area by 2025.
